One of THOSE cards.....

I've tried to create something different today and am out of my comfort zone, but you have to test yourself or else how do you grow!  White space uggghhh!!  It scares me LOL!!

Anyhow....  This is a new image in my shop just called plain and simply I Love You.  Just because that's what's written in the balloon strings.

It was one of THOSE cards.   This was not my first attempt, I had several terrible colourings and one failed card before I eventually got it something like passable!  The image has been coloured with Copics.  Because I needed to cover up some of that white space I sprinkled some embossing enamel, actually lots of embossing enamel.  Underneath the image I've added a section of burgundy ribbon.

I wanted to try to do a card with a panel down one side, I've used some black card and design paper from First Edition I think it was (it's a bit that was left over in my scraps box).  After putting the card together I noticed I'd smudged some red ink (my fingers were covered in it after all the colouring attempts).  To cover the inky stain up I added some red and white twine tied in a bow.  I then had this HUGE white space down the left side. So I had to add some red and black gems to cover it up a bit.  CAS card ROLF who am I trying to kid!!!  Over to the experts....

Hoping you'll be kind with your comments after my disastrous crafty session :/

Vintage Wedding Style Card

I'm honoured today to be joining as a GDT over at Scrapping4Fun this time.  I had great fun creating this vintage shabby chic style wedding card for the challenge theme.

I've used a stamp from Kaban Crafts which has been coloured with Copics.  I've then fussy cut it to add to the top layer.

My design paper are from First Edition, Santoro and UHK Gallery.  I've also used some black card.

Here a close up of the leaves and flowers section.  Behind the layers you can see some lace.

To finish off I've added a wood chip sentiment from Scrapiniec and some pearls.

Hope you like my inspiration for the challenge

Night Before

I'm sharing a little early Christmas inspiration tonight, I'm using The Night Before Christmas which can be found here on Etsy.

The image has been coloured with Copics, framed with black card and I've added a section of left over red sparkly Christmas paper from First Edition.

The glittery red sentiment is one I got from Hobby Craft.

Thanks for popping by today

Forget me knots

Happy New Year!!

The new blog challenge starts today at SheepSki Designs.  The theme this time is New or OLD.  Hopefully this will give you a broad spectrum of things you'll be able to enter the challenge with :)

I'm going with both a new and old theme here.  The image is new I've not coloured it up myself before. The old is with the style of the card I've made.

I've coloured the image with Copics, a black polychromos pencil, a black Copic liner and a white gel pen.  The sentiment was printed at the same time as the image.

I've used Walnut Stain ink from Tim Holtz to distress it with as well as using a Tonic solutions tool.

Adding two types of embossing enamel to add interest, i've framed it with design papers from Maja Design and Lemoncraft.

Thanks for popping by today, hope we see you at the challenge

Boys Boys Boys

New Year new start, I really need to make more male cards this year!

So here I am starting off with out challenge at All Dressed Up in the facebook Group with a male card yay!!  The theme for this month is Clean and Simple Cards.  I thought this might be an easy one for the ladies coming straight back in after silly season :)

The image has been coloured with Copics.  I've left a large border round so I could add some simple features to it.

Using a die out I've added some black card and design paper from Maja Design.

Finished off with three black gems, that's me for this challenge inspiration.  You can check out the Facebook group for the challenge.

Wedding turned Christmas

I've used an unusual stamp for a Christmas card here.  My hubby wanted a van card for a friend, I couldn't find one so I "converted" the digi stamp Just Married from All Dressed Up for him - LOL!!

The image has been coloured with Copics and I've doodled a stitched border round it.  I've borrowed a layout from Sue Hastead (Tanglemouse Cards) that I saw and really liked.  Nearly got it wrong on the diagonal cut about the birds though ooops!

My design papers are all from First Edition and I've added a few green enamel dots to finish (Sue used yellow ones)

Hope you like the card I created today and thank you Sue for the inspiration!

Break Time

I'm sharing my latest creation using Taking a Break today which I created for the new challenge in the SheepSki Designs Facebook Group.  The challenge runs from 20 December to 19 January and the optional twist this time is anything SheepSki (Anything Goes in other words!).

I've coloured the image with Copics, framed it with some black and red card and added a woodchip sentiment from Make It Crafty which I also coloured with Copics.

Have a fantastic Christmas everyone, hope its a happy and peaceful one
