My little friend

I'm using Little Ladybird, she's been coloured with Copics.  Around the image you can see some embossing enamel.

The the left of the image I've added a mix of paper flowers, some vintage seam binding and a tiny ladybird.  Here's a close up.

The design paper is from First Edition.  All the edges have been distressed with a Tonic Solutions tool.
I've double cut a banner with hearts using a die, then layered them up.  One of the tiny hearts that was cut out with the die I've added to the image.

Underneath the image is some lace, a sentiment from Tim Holtz, a wood chip heart in circles and some pearls complete the card.

Did you know we also have a blog challenge, you can find it here.

Thanks for popping by for a look today

Lace & Pearl Wedding

It's new Facebook Challenge day at All Dressed Up, this month we'd love to see your embellishments.

I've coloured the image with Copics then layed up some papers and lace to give it a vintage feel.

The design paper you can see here in from Lemoncraft.

Over the last lace layer I've added a pearl string, then a few different shaped wooden hearts around the image.

Thanks for popping by today

A Little Note

I wasn't sure what I was going to do with this image at first.  I've seen many of our Dressy Girls colour in in some lovely colours, so I thought I'd do something a little different.  I was browsing some vintage style birthday cards when I though oooo I could colour it sepia and do a vintage style card.

I've coloured the image monochrome using Copics to give it that vintage look.  I've then used some Vintage Photo ink from Tim Holtz and a Tonic Solutions tool to distress the image.

To the left of the image I've added a floral arrangement, the image above shows a close up of this,  I've picked flowers to match the theme of the image and card.  To the right of the card I've added some cream lace and a hand tied bow using some seam binding and a couple more flowers,

My design paper is from Maja Design, this was also distressed.  The two little banners were cut using a Fantasy Die and some scraps of First Edition paper.

I've added a few more things to finish the card, some pearls, a brass corner piece and a tiny wooden heart.

Hope you like my inspiration for today.  you can see more from the dressy girls today in the Facebook Group and on the challenge blog

Something a little girly for the new year

For my girly inspiration I'm using one of the Crafteezee stamps - What to Wear, you can find it here.

I've coloured the image with Copics then fussy cut it out.  Behind the image you can see papers cut with Spellbinders stamps.  I've also used a vintage metal flourish I've had in my stash forever.

Here's a closeup section of my flowers so you can see the 3-D effect.  this one will have to go in a box with some tissue paper when I post it.

Full view of the whole card next.  My design papers are from Maya Design, Lemoncraft and 13 Arts.  All the papers have been edged with vintage photo ink from Tim Hotlz.

The What to Wear sentiment from the stamp has been cut out with a die, the mounted onto 13 Arts design paper cut with a die from the same set.  The tiny aqua heart is from the stamp set which I cut out by hand.

In between the design papers you can see a section of cream lace.  I've also used some pearl gems to finish the card.

Here's the card with a few of the things I used to create it.  Hope you like my inspiration for today

Vintage style

We're being sponsored this month by All Dressed Up at the Outlawz Sketch challenge.

The image has been coloured with Copics.  I've cute the image out with a Spellbinders die, the edges were then distressed with Vintage Photo ink from Tim Holtz.  I've then sprinkled two different colours of embossing enamel around the image.

Here's our sketch for the next two weeks

My design papers are from First Edition and Lemoncraft (also distressed with the same ink).

Underneath the image is a section of lace (instead of paper).  I've also added a couple of sections of film strip from Tim Holtz.

My final embellishments are some brown rose organza trim, a couple of paper flowers and a tiny resin photo frame.

Thanks for popping by today, we hope to see you at the challenge

One for Mum

Today was Mother's Day in the UK.  So I'm going to share the card I made for my mum with you.

I thought it cool to do them in a lesser know orange variety, I've used Copics to do that :)
I've also used a black liner pen and a white gel pen.

The Happy Mother's Day sentiment was printed at the same time as the image.  I've kept the card CAS to showcase the image and used some other techniques on the background to make it look more vintage styled.

The images was framed with black card, both have been distressed with a Tonic Solutions tool.  I've also distressed the image with Vintage Photo ink from Tim Holtz.  I've used the same ink and a stencil to add in the words to the background.  Finally I've added two different colours of embossing enamel.

Thanks for taking a look today

Adventure

I'm sharing a little inspiration with you today using Bryan's Baby.  This is only the second time I've coloured it.  You can get 10% off any of my images by quoting code SKIANDREA10 at checkout on Etsy.
I've used Copics to colour the image.  The background was created using a stencil Faye gave me as part of a recent colouring class.  I still need to improve the technique she showed us by the effect is fantastic and I love it.  You can find Faye's classes on here blog here

I've used Kraft card for my background, on top of that some design paper from Docrafts.  The birds were doodled on after I thought they added a nice touch to the sky.
The sentiment stickers are Tim Holtz ones.

Thanks for taking a look today.

Shabby Chic Tag

We've a new challenge for you over at Fussy and Fancy Fridays for the next two weeks we've love to see your creations with a sentiment added.

Here's a close up of mine, it's a wood chip sentiment from Scrapienic, I've used a few of their elements on this tag :)
The design papers are from Lemoncraft and have been distressed with a Tonic Solutions tool.  One of the layers has been curled back on itself before being glued into place.

Over the top of this is a lace corner at the bottom right.

The top left has some honeycomb Dusty Attic chip board which I've painted with white acrylic.

Running up the right hand side of the tag is a Scrapienic border and the butterfly is also from one of their sets.

Here a shot of the whole tag.  You can see at the bottom I've wrapped some lace around and topped it off with 1mm pearl trim.

The scattered cascade of white flowers are paper ones which I got from Hobbycraft.

From his final picture you can see the three dimension effect of all the tag elements.

The final part to tell you about if the vintage seam binding and lace which make up the threads to attach the tag to the present.

Hope you like my inspiration for today, thanks for taking the time to visit.

A little autumn vintage

We're sponsored by TLC at Outlawz Sketch this month - this was a shop I hadn't come across before.

I've used a combination of images to create this card, all autumn themed.
The leaf and acorn image at the centre has been coloured with Copics.  This is framed by a vintage border and I've also added an autumn sentiment.  The shape of the vintage frame reminded me of the sketch centre for this weeks challenge so I've used this instead of cutting it with a die.

Here's our sketch for this week

Once I'd coloured and cut the image out I distressed the edges with antique linen and vintage photo ink from Tim Holtz.  I've then scattered some embossing enamel around the edges.

I've used design papers from Lili of the Valley, some black ribbon and fours tiny wooden hearts.  I've taken a few liberties with the sketch this week ;)  but you can see the influence is there.
Hope you like my inspiration for this week and we see you at the challenge

Black n Red Heart Vase

We're onto the second week at Outlawz Sketch with DigiStamps4Joy as our sponsor.

I've used Vase of Hearts this week for my inspiration.  I've been practicing my Copic colouring since been on my colouring course and used them on this image.

Here's our sketch for this week

The image was hand cut using the inner section of a Spellbinders die.  I then used the same die to cut the black frame for the image.  The edges of the image were distressed with Vintage Photo ink from Tim Holtz.

The design paper is from Tim Holtz and I've also used some more black card.  The organza ribbon was from Crafty Ribbons and the flowers are a mixture from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Hope you like my inspiration for today and we see you at the challenge

Clocks n Cogs

Wow third week already of sponsoring the Sketch Team at Outlawz - the times flying by -which is kind of appropriate seen as I've made a Steampunk creation for my next challenge inspiration.

You can enter any creations with my images into my anything goes Facebook challenges and did you know I also have a blog challenge as well.  You don't have to use my images for those but you do have to follow the themes :D
So onto the good stuff.  I've coloured Victoria with ProMarkers, Copics and polychromos pencils.  I've then fussy cut her out to go o the card.  That wasn't my intention originally.  It was just when I was the fab Steampunk clock I knew I wanted to use that with the image.  It's a laser cut wood chip one that I got at Scrap and Craft.  The clock was a bit pale so I've grunged it up with some vintage and antique linen ink from Tim Holtz

Here's our sketch for this week

The designs papers I've used are from 13Arts and I've also used some red card.

The banner at the side was cut using a La La Land die (which I've misplaced in amongst my papers LOL!)  I cut the sections of it out and used some red card behind them so the heart shapes would show up and match the colour scheme.

Hope you love my inspiration

1920's Elegance

Here I am today sharing with you my new image Grace, she's kinda based on a 1920's flapper.

Grace has been coloured with ProMarkers and I've also used a black polychromos pencil to add depth to the shading to the very back of the dress.

I have some label dies and I used a large one of these to cut her out with.  I then chopped the sides off to give it a straight rather than curved look.  I found I didn't have any suitable inks to distress the edges so I used ProMarker around the edges instead.

I wanted to make an Art Deco style card so this was a bit fiddly with lots of strips of left over design papers.

The design papers are from Maja Design and Lemoncraft.  I chose ones that were similar colour to the image and the background design paper.  The left over strips were cut down to the same size to go at either side of the image.  To get the curve at the top and bottom I used the curve of the image to draw a line on the strips and then cut them with scissors.  Lined all up together gives them an Art Deco look :)

To finish off I added a BIRTHDAY sentiment in Art Deco style.  The original sentiment from Scrapienic says happy birthday I just cut it down and then coloured it with brown ProMarker.  I then added a few bits of bling with rhine stones.

Thanks for taking a look today

Bee-ing Vintage

So I finally got my Bee n Blossom coloured image onto a card :D

I coloured the image with Copics and polychromos pencils.  I even had a go at doing see-through wings and I'm very happy with how they came out.

Once I'd coloured the image I then set about dotting grey Copic around the image.  After that - I'm still not quite sure where I got the idea from I grabbed my word stencil that I'd used recently on my Pink Flutterby canvas.

I used some walnut stain from Tim Holtz and proceeded to  dab it through using a sponge pad (I couldn't ind my tool so I got extremely inky!!)

The edges were then distressed with a combination of vintage photo and black soot ink from Tim Holtz.

I then stalled.  I loved what I done so much I didn't want to ruin it by cutting it up.

Finally I made a decision.  I kept the whole of the image, added some Kraft for a border and a couple of tiny brass antique corners.

It's turned out a beautiful vintage looking card - one of my favourites so far I think :D

Happy crafting everyone.
Don't forget I now have a blog challenge (the theme this time is Anything Goes) you can enter with anyone's images they don't have to be mine.  I also have a Facebook challenges but for these you do have to use my images.

Think of a Film or a Song

Yeah well I wasn't actually aware I was thinking of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang when I started drawing this image Bryan's Baby which you can now find in my shop - click here :)

I started out drawing our friends Morgan, then I started to change the shape slightly as I went along.  It's ended up Steampunk style with wings LOL!

You can get this image and any of my others with 10% off by quoting SKIANDREA10 at checkout on Etsy
I've used Copics and polychromos pencils to colour the image.  I've done it red on the recommendation of my hubby.  I wasn't sure it would work but I LOVE how its come out.
I had to do a CAS card to showcase the image for you.  I've framed it with black card and doodled a border.

The sentiment was created at the time of printing.

Hope you love my inspiration with my new image.

Hanging Heart

I've been busy this week, my sketching has been put on hold for the moment whilst I create other beautiful things :D

I'm showing you a couple of close ups first so you can see the flowers better.  All these were from Wild Orchid Crafts, Live and Love Crafts and The Ribbon Girl.
There are some torn scraps of paper from Lemoncraft under these.

The hear was avert cheep wooden one I picked up in a Hobby Craft.  It was red to start off with.
I've used several layers of gesso to make it white.  On top of this I've used some modelling clay and stencils for the brick wall and words.

That was then coated with another layer of gesso before I added the embellishments.

The bits I've not mentioned so far are a resin picture frame and tiny silver dragonfly beads.

I've created this shabby / vintage wall hanging for my hubby to give to his mum for Mother's Day, we know she'll love it :D

Vintage Angel

And now for something completely different.  My mother in law loves Vintage and Shaby chic.  This is the card I made for her on Christmas day morning.  Everything used here apart from the Kraft card was from either Live and Live Crafts or The Ribbon Girl.
I picked a Vintage angel image.  All the design papers and die cuts were distressed with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo ink

I've used some hortensias, resin corners, a pin, some snowtext, a pearl gem and a crystal stem.

Here's a close up of the die cuts distressed with ink.

Here you can see a close up of the design paper I used on the top layer.

This is the first time I've ever decorated the inside of a card.

And here's the finished product.
