Seal Rescue Oddball Art New Release & Blog Hop

It's come round to that time again - we need your help to save the seals.  We did this last year, all the proceeds for the seal stamps Lizzy created go to help save the seals.

This is image no 284 available on Etsy today - AND we're also having a blop hop!

If you want this stamp as well as helping those seals you can get it at a 10% discount (and any of Lizzy's stamps) by quoting my code DTANDREA10 at checkout :D

The image you can see here has been coloured with Copics and ProMarkers.  i've also used a black polychromos pencil to add some shading.

I've left the design very simple just cut it out and distressed the edges.
My only addition are some red punched hearts (I'm starting to really love CAS cards)

PS this is the letter you'll need for the blog hop - collect them all and you'll make up the words!!

Audrey next on the list (or Hippieaud as we all know and love her)

Here's some more information for you or if you want to help support the cause

Mini filmstrip

This is my second card using the amazingly cute seal images that Lizzy from Oddball Art Co has recently released!  You can find these images on Etsy and they're part of a fund raiser we're doing to help the seals in Canada.  Every image that is purchased Lizzy is passing on the full amount received to the seal fund!  AND what's even better for you is I have a discount code you can use to purchase these with 10% off just quote DTANDREA10 at the checkout.  There are also some sentiments to go with the seals.

To find out how we're doing on the fundraising you can check it out on the Oddball Art Co blog.  You can also see what other makes my fellow DT have made.

So... how I did the card.  I printed off a mini version of the seals in a column.  I then coloured them with Copics.  Ten came the slightly tricky bit.  I sketched the film strip around the seals then coloured it in.  The completed image was cut out and given round edges to fit in with the film strip.  I added some black card stock as the background and mounted the seal image on top.

The Smile.... embellishment was made suing some glitter adhesive letters purchased from Hobby Craft.

Please come and help us save some seals

Unbelievably cute

Have you seen these amazingly cute images that Lizzy from Oddball Art Co has just released!  These seal images are actually the same one I've flipped one image and made it slightly larger and in front of the other to give it perspective.

Anyway....more about how I did these in a minute.

EVEN BETTER
We still have the challenge live on the blog for Make a Card for a Cause.  So you could do a double whammy get yourself in for a chance to win some images and help us to raise some money.  Of course you don't have the do a card for the seals it could e another cause close to your heart.  Cancer research, hospices, Alzheimer's etc. :)

So..... back to how I did the card.  Once printed I used Copics (I've a full set of neutral greys) to colour the seals.  I  then used red ProMarkers for the hearts and blue and light grey for the ocean waves.  Now I've had a little practice at colouring water so it came in very handy here.  I picked out some of the ripples around the seals and coloured the lower part of these in blue.  The light grey was put to the left of the blue to create some shadow.  I left the tops of the waves white.  I then did a few scattered waves around the back of the seals.

The whole image was cut out to showcase the seals and make a clean and simple card.  I just picked some red card stock and blue design paper from Lili of the Valley to create an outside border.

The sentiment and XOXO were created with letter beads and the wording is similar to the sentiments you can get on Etsy to go with the seals.

Final touch some large blue self adhesive gems to go with the seal.

Please come and help us save some seals
