Splodgy mess

All Dressed Up new releases for February have you seen them?  Wendy's outdone herself again!

For this bit of inspiration I got to play with Love You, it started out as a card but I loved it so much when I'd finished it I decided to frame it and make it into a picture.

So here's what I've done and used.  Lots of layers and very mess ones too :D

Papers are all from Lili of the Valley, I've also used some black and two different shades of red card stock.  There's also some chipboard shapes in here.

Here's a bit of a close up.

The red splotches are acrylic paint that I've splattered onto the card.  I've also used some white gesso and dabbed that around.

Here's the image coloured with Copics.  I've kept a black white and red theme throughout.

This is a close up of the flower section.  There were all from Wild Orchid Crafts.

And here's the finished product.  It just fits nicely into a 8" by 8" square frame :D
Oh and the only other embellishment I used not mentioned was a white clay heart.

All that's left to say is don't forget you've only a day or so left to enter the Hearts Facebook challenge AND we've an Anything Goes with an All Dressed Up image on the blog.

Polar winter

I'm honoured to day to be a guest designer at Crafting by Designs - the theme for this weeks challenge is Get Ready for Christmas.

I've used the Polar Bears stamp from Wild Rose Studio for my inspiration.  Coloured in subtle pastels I've edged the image with Tim Holtz antique linen ink then mounted it onto some red card stock.

Papers are from Lemoncraft and Maja Designs and I've used a little more red card stock.

The ribbon and black gems are from my stash.  The sentiment is a wood chip one from Hobby Craft that I've coloured with ProMarkers and I also got the wooden heart from there.

Thank you so much to Crafting by Designs for inviting me to be a guest designer

Christmas stockings

If you're looking for my All Dressed Up blog hop post click here

I'm honoured today to be a guest designer at Scrapping4Fun.  The challenge for the next fortnight is Traditional Christmas Colours

Here's photo for your inspiration

I've not really got going properly with my Christmas cards yet so this was a good opportunity for me to make one :D

I was very luck to have won some stamps recently from Wild Rose Studio - the one I've picked to use today is Owls on Branch.  They've been coloured with a combination of Copics and ProMarkers.  The image cut out with a Spellbinders die has been distressed with Tim Holtz antique linen ink.

This was a great layout I picked to use as it gave me chance to use up some of those off cuts I've been hoarding!  The design papers being from Craftwork Cards and Lili of the Valley.

I've added a wooden heart with a Happy Christmas sentiment and some red ribbon with a hand tied bow, some paper string which came all the way from Dorinda in the USA last year and a brass Christmas stocking which came from Live and Love Crafts.

Hope you like my traditional Christmas inspiration

C is for Cupid - new ABC Challenge

It's the first of the month and time for the new ABC Challenge - C is for Cupid sponsored by Marianne Design and Stamp and Create.  The theme surprisingly is Love/Romance/Valentines/Wedding/Engagement :)  This leaves lots of options open for your creativity!

For my DT card I decided to use a stamp from Wild Rose Studio - Fireworks in Paris.  I've coloured it with ProMarkers and mounted it onto some black card stock to create a border.  At the top left of the image I've added some pearl self adhesive gems.

The papers are also from Wild Rose Studio - Wedding Bells.  I've selected two of the design papers from this pack using roses.  At the top righthand corner I've folded the top paper back onto itself to reveal the design paper underneath.  The image is mounted over the top of this to pin it in place.

Under the top left of the image are two tags created using a Marianne Design die set.  The tags have been edged in Antique Linen distress ink from Tim Holtz and I've threaded some vintage seam binding through their tops.

Underneath the image is some gold organza ribbon which I bought from Hobby Craft and completed with a hand tied bow.

The image itself has been mounted using some sticky pads give some dimension to the card.  This enabled me to place some of the flowers and leaves slightly underneath the image and layer them onto the top.  The leaves, white roses, cherry blossom and sweetheart blossoms are all from Wild Orchid Crafts.  The hortensias and flower spray are from Live and Love Crafts.  And finally the pins are from The Ribbon Girl.  I've included a close up below so you can see in more detail.

The right hand side of the image is frames by two resin corners from Live and Love Crafts - a close up of the bottom one is below.

Last thing that's been added is some small organza rose trim from Wild Orchid Crafts.  Phew I think that's it!

Have fun creating :)
