A little nature

We're been sponsored by Through The Craft Room Door this month at Outlawz Sketch.

That mean we get to use whatever images we like for our inspiration this time :)

I've chosen an image from Rick St Dennis called Steampunk Rose Bug.  The images has been coloured with Copics.  I've them cut it out with a Spellbinders die.  the edges has been distressed with antique linen, vintage photo and black soot inks from Tim Holtz.  I've then scattered some embossing enamel and heated it.  After this I've cut some black card with a Sepllbinders die and mounted the image onto it.

Here's our sketch for this week

My design papers are from Prima Marketing, Lili of the Valley and I've also used some more black card.  Behind the image you can see some cream lace which I got from The Ribbon Girl.

The double banners were produced using a La La Land die, some black card and paper from Prima Marketing.  Along the banner I've added a few black gems.  The sentiment is a wood chip one from Scrapiniec.

Hope you like my inspiration for today and we see you at the challenge

Poison

Comes in small bottles - well I've decided to do a small version with this Rick St Dennis image (Smilin Joe Skull with Roses) and make a tag :D

I've had this image coloured up for ages (using ProMarkers).  You might be able to tell because my colouring style has improved somewhat.  I'd cut the image out with a die originally but decided I'd not left enough white space.  So there it sat on my table waiting for some inspiration.

My hubby loves skulls and his birthday was coming up.  I'd bought some him some whiskey and decided it needed a tag -  fussy cutting the image I held it up to a tag and found it was the perfect size - yay!

Papers used are black card stock (distressed), Docrafts and Santoro, more card stock cut with a Tim Hotlz die.  there's also a piece of black lace, a wooden golden arrow, some black gems, letter beads to make up the poison sentiment and some mixed ribbon and thread in black, grey, pink and burgundy.

Here's the finished product - it came out fab.  GOT to do some more of these

I'm getting too old for this

You can just image Santa after all his running round falling asleep still dressed :D

This brilliant image is from Rick St Dennis and is available of Etsy - it's called Santa Nap Time
I've coloured the image with ProMarkers and done a very simple CAS card, he had to be the centre of attention.  He's just mounted onto some red card stock and then I doodled round the edges and added four red gems at the corners.

I've recently been shopping to Hobby Craft and found some small wooden sentiments.  This one was shaped like a cloud and it made me think of speech bubbles.  So I added some more red gems to make it look like this was what Santa was dreaming of thinking as he lays on his bed exhausted.  At least I hope it's his bed LOL!!

Happy Christmas card making :D

Eye of newt.....

I hate to say it but I LOVE halloween.  It means I can make all sorts of creepy stuff AND my hubby wants all my cards.  He loves skulls :)

The one I've used for this card is Hexology from Rick St Dennis you can find this one on Zibbet.

I've used a combination of Copics, ProMarkers and black polychromos pencil for this one.
Once finished I've mounted it onto some plain black card stock.

Then I thought about making it more Halloween so I had a dig around in my old stamps and found this little beautify I'd forgotten I had.  It's a recipe for eye of newt etc. goes perfectly :D  It's part of a set from Paperartsy which I bought when I started crafting a couple of years ago.

I've then just added a few black self adhesive gems to finish the card off.
OK what can I do next.....

Pink Frosting

In September our sponsor over at Outlawz Sketch Team was Rick St Dennis.  I loved his images so much I decided to get a few extras and a few creepy ones :)

I thought I'd do this one first, you can get the image from Etsy Halloween 2015.  As Halloween approaches the nights get longer and darker..... until finally the clocks go back in the UK and it's fully dark at about 5pm just in time for the kids to go trick or treating.
This first thing I did on this was colour the pumpkin - then all my DT "stuff" took over and I've only just managed to finish the rest over the last couple of nights.

As you can imagine it took a bit of colouring and I used several different things - ProMarkers, Copics polychromos pencil and biro

Once finished I mounted the image onto some black card stock and left it at that to showcase the image.  I'm afraid this one might not even get out of the house - my hubby wants to claim it!

A basket full of love

Noooo... today is out last challenge over at the Outlawz Sketch team with Rick St Dennis!  I'm a huge fan and will definitely be using his images in future :)
All the links to his sites can be found on the Outlawz Sketch team challenge for October 2015.

For my last bit of inspiration I'm sharing my version of Basket of Love.  I've coloured this with ProMarkers in pale shades apart from the red so it draws your eye in (hopefully!)  It's been cut out with a Spellbinders die, inked with antique linen and distressed.

I've added in a few flowers to compliment the image.  The daisy's and hortensias are from Kort and Godt available at Live and Love Crafts

The design papers from Lili of the Valley have had some antique linen ink from Tim Holtz applied to the edges and then distressed.  The lace (which is actually a piece cut in half) has been hanging around in my stash for a while.  Those tiny pearl strips have also been in my stash for a long time I tend to use the larger ones more often.

The sentiment which has been coloured with ProMakers is a Lili of the Valley on from one of their art pads.

Finally onto the gold organza ribbon and pearl gems - these were also from my stash.

This is your last chance to be in with a chance to win some Rick St Dennis images!

I'm having a little snooze here

Welcome to our fourth Rick St Dennis inspiration at Outlawz Sketch Team!

I've used a couple of very cute guys this time :)  The images are Happy Dream and Yet another Nap.  I've coloured them using ProMarkers, cut themout with a Spellbinders die then distressed them with black soot Tim Holtz distress ink.

The sketch has been flipped so I could make it look like some trees / vines were growing up the wall.

To do this I've used some chip board and coloured it with ProMarkers as well.  There's also a different bit of coloured chip board at the bottom right to give them impression of a plant growing.

The design paper is from Lemon Craft and I've also used some pain blue paper to give the card a border.  And not forgetting the tiny blue self adhesive gems to finish off with

We'd love for you to join us to be in with a chance to win some fantastic Risk St Dennis images

Carnival Clown

I'm a little late updating my post for this one - you can blame all the overtime I've been doing :)

We've a new challenge today at Outlawz Sketch team - we're being sponsored by Rick St Dennis with his fab images.  Hope this one isn't too scary.....

The one I've chosen for my inspiration card is Laughing Bills Carnival.  I printed it pretty big as I wanted to be able to colour all the detail.  I've used ProMarkers to do this with.  I've also done my ow background with some "fluffy" clouds.

The image was then hand cut because I'd not got a die big enough :)
The edges have been distressed with Tim Holtz black soot distress ink.

For the design paper I ended up picking some flowery number from Lili of the Valley.  When I think of clowns I always think of those stupid fake ones they use with water in them.  To make it slightly more creepy I've also distressed this with black soot.  At the back the whole think is mounted onto some black card stock.
Added extras are some dark blue spotty ribbon, and some twine.  A hot air balloon dress it up button.  A brass skull charm and some black enamel flowers.

Hope on over to the main page to see the amazing inspiration done by the rest of the team :)

Monster of a coffee

This is the second week at Outlawz Sketch with Rick St Dennis as our sponsor (I'm still very excited!)

This is our sketch for this week and if you pop over to the group you'll be amazed to see the different cards we produced using the same sketch.

I've chosen to use Danger Coffee Monster Blank.  You could definitely say this one sums me up.  I'm a huge coffee monster - love black and strong and kinda climbing out of the mug like this one ;)

The image has been coloured with ProMarkers, cut out with a Spellbinders die that I've had for aged and never used.  The edges of the cut image were then coloured with pink and brown ProMarker.

I've kept the design paper plain as I didn't want to distract from the image and I've kept with the brown and pink theme using papers from Lili of the Valley.

The sentiment I've added is actually one from Oddball Art, that I though would be very appropriate for this image.

The only other extras I've added are some pink ribbon and some clay hearts (which people keep telling me look like white chocolate!)
If only........
