Birthday blues

Ok so that title may be slightly misleading.  It as short for blue hair and birthday card :D

I've used Top Knot from Wendy's All Dressed Up Etsy store for the new Facebook Challenge inspiration.  For this month the challenge theme is to Add Ribbon and / or Lace!

I've coloured her with ProMarkers adding blue hair just to be different.  She's been cut out with a Spellbinders die and then I've used some Milled Lavender ink from Tim Holtz to distress the edges.

Design papers are from Maja Design and Lili of the Valley.  There are two strips of satin ribbon in colours matching the card colour scheme from Crafty Ribbons.

The punched heart was a left over from using a La La Land banner die. I've used some papers flowers in a double cascade, some purple gems and a sentiment from Lili of the Valley coloured with ProMarker.

Don't forget to look out for the new challenge starting on the blog on 15 August.  the Dressy Girls have been having a break but are back soon :D

August's here......

Have you seen my new image?  She's called August - you can get her on my Etsy store here.  Or if you're lucky enough to be taking part in The Outlawz Progressive challenge you'll be getting her to use this month.  I created her especially for you to use at Outlawz this month :D

I've drawn her in such a way that you can colour her with a top, naked, or you can use the part that I've coloured as a top here to be part of her hair.  You'll be able to see this from the DT's inspiration.

I've coloured this image with ProMarkers, added a few sequins and gems to add a bit of sparkle and distressed the edges of the image.

The image has been mounted onto distressed design paper from Maya Design to create a CAS style card to showcase the image.

Maiden

Today we have a new challenge at the ABC Challenge - M is for Maiden.  We're sponsored by The Paper Shelter you can check out their images here.

I've chosen to use Purity for my inspiration card.  She's been coloured with ProMarkers then fussy cut to mount onto the design paper.

I've used lots of flowers and flowery design paper for a summery garden feel.

In addition toward the right of the image is a flower arrangement using some chipboard and flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, Live and Love Crafts and The Ribbon Girl.  Here's a close up.

The design papers are from Lili of the Valley with lots of layers.

My final touch is another small flower arrangement at the top left and then a wooden GIRL sentiment from Scrapiniec.

Balancing act

I've used new release image 319 for my inspiration.  Which is of a gorgeous mermaid balancing a star fish on her finger!

I've made a CAS style card to showcase the image.  Just distressing some black card and the image.

The rest has been done with ProMarkers.

I've tried to get an underwater effect with sunlight shining through the surface layers with the darker ocean underneath. So the whole card goes from light to dark.

3000 members at All Dressed Up!

Yay we've finally reached 3000 members at All Dressed Up.  To celebrate Wendy has created this gorgeous girly image for you.

This image reminder me so much of my friend Diane and me out drinking cocktails on a Friday night :D

The image is called Time To Celebrate and I've chosen to colour mine in red and black with Copics.  the edges of the image have been distressed with vintage photo ink from Tim Holtz.

The design papers I used are from Docrafts and First Edition.  I've also used some red and black card stock.

My only embellishments for this one are some black gems and a tiny wooden xoxo sentiment.

The image I've used here for my inspiration today is number 296.  I've coloured it with Copics and chosen to stick with a pink and grey colour pallet.

Papers are from Docrafts and Maja Design.  All have been distressed and the image has also been distressed.

Using a robot image I had to use some cogs.  I've had these in my stash for ages and have lost the packaging - sorry ladies I can't remember who they're from - ANYWAY - I also coloured them with Copics :D

My colouring for these images were done with ProMarkers and I've used some black polychromos pencil in the bubbles.

This first image is called Butterfly Flower

This next one is called Flower Bath

And this last one is called Ladybug Poppies

This is out sketch for this week

For my card I created an 8" by 8", mainly because when I tried to piece it together I realised that the images were just that little bit too big for my standard 6" x 6"

There was no design paper used for this card,  I've just used white and black card stock and some biro to do some doodling to add borders to my images.

Scattered across the images are some sequins and rhine stones to add a bit of bling and to fit with the bubble theme :D
