A little gothic christmas

A while ago I won some images from Stars Stampz, this one is Goth Girl.  I had her printed for ages and deciding to have a practice and play with my Copics I coloured her up in grey and purple.

Don't ask me where this idea came from - my head is just filled and always buzzing.

The sentiment you can see next to the image is from Scrapieic and is coloured with black Copic.

I've used design paper from Maja Design and some black card.

Instead of using white for snow I've used some black card.  This was for the snowflakes (Spellbinder label leftovers) and a Memory Box die.

Hope you like my "a little different" Christmas creation :)

Hi there

Sharing my latest Outlawz Sketch inspiration today using The "O" Look from our sponsor for the month DigiStamps4Joy.  I love this image it's just so fun!
I've coloured it using Copics.  I've then cut it out with a Spellbinders die and mounted it onto some black card cut with another Spellbinders die.

Here's our sketch for this week

Even though its a Halloween Sketch I've kept away from that theme this time.

My design papers are from Maja Design.  I've added some wood chip elements and a sentiment from Scrapienic and finished off with a few black gems.

Hope you like my inspiration for today and we see you at the challenge

A little fairy mischief

This is a Christmas Fairy with a bit of a difference, she's not sitting on the top of a tree looking cute instead she's playing with the decorations and getting up to mischief.  Or I suppose you could look at her in another light and she's in awe of the sparkly Christmas bauble.

I've coloured the image with Copics, this is my third attempt LOL!  The first one the card i was using gave some bleed with the red so I had to reprint.  The second time I was doing the ornament and orangy colour but I couldn't get the blending quite right and it looked an awful mess, so I tried to cover it up using red - wish looked too dark!

So in my third attempt I played it same and went to a pale ornament, which I added lashings of DecoArt glitter to get some sparkle.  I've also added the same glitter to her wings.  For a change you can actually se the sparkle in the photos - how often does that happen?

I've given the edges of the image a grungy dark feel as I wanted a fairy magic glow to the card.
The image is back with red and black card to keep in theme with the image.

I've added a few rhine stones for extra bling and interest and finally a Merry Christmas sentiment coloured with black Copic from Crafty Moly.

Happy creating lovelies!

Nuts about you

Today I'm sharing my inspiration for Wendy's new release images at All Dressed Up for October.  This cute little guy is Bushy Tail.  I was going to go way out there and colour it pink at first but I'm loving the seasonal inspiration at the moment.  All the trees are definitely autumnal near us now :)
I still need to get some lessons on how to do fur with Copics.  This was coloured with Copics and then I've aded some more texture with polychromos pencils to make him look furry.

I dug out some old Lili of the Valley papers for this one and a strip of off cut from Maya Design.  All my papers were distressed.  You can probably see I've also used some black and red card in the mix as well.

The sentiment Nuts about you was hand written on and I've also done a bit of doodling around the image frame.

My only embellishment a few wooden hearts

Hope you like my inspiration for today

Take a simple shoe

I started off by colouring Stappy Sandal in red with Copics.  (You can get 10% off all my images by quoting code SKIANDREA10 at checkout).  I was getting some awful bleed so I reprinted it off on Make It Crafty card stock instead.  I had another go and this time it was much better.  The straps however were so thin and I was worried I'm make a mess so I got the depth by using a black polychromos pencil.
Once coloured I cut it out with a Spellbinder die and used Tim Holtz vintage photo ink on the edges.

This card is for a commission (so you can see why I didn't want to make a mess).  The over all look was with autumn colours.  Below is a close up of some of the flowers I've used from The Ribbon Girl and Wild Orchid Crafts.  I've also added some twigs from Scrapienic.

Below is a close up of the other flower arrangement.  above this you can see the small wooden heart I used.  these can be found in the wedding section at Hobbycraft.

The design papers are from UHK Gallery and Maja Design (all were distressed).  I've also used some back card for the shaped card base.

To finish off I've added a Scrapienic birthday sentiment and some brass letters to make up MUM.  I found these in Hobbycrafty a while ago.

Hope you love my inspiration for today.

Head Stand in the snow

Have you noticed?  Most of the snowmen images around all have them standing upright, some of them with cute animals, birds or presents.  Well you probably know by now I like to be different LOL!!

I've coloured him in warm colours and non traditional colours too for my first inspiration with him.  I've done this using a combination of Copics and polychromos pencils.

In the background behind him I've doodles a few clouds with my Copics.

Showcasing the image for you today I've made a CAS card.  The design paper framing the image is from First Edition.

I've added a sentiment JOY with brass letter charms (found in Hobbycraft a while ago).
Then finally added a couple of sequins and a few rhine stones for a bit of bling/sparkle.

Hope you like my inspiration with my new image

To my friend

The image was coloured with Copics then finished off with polychromos pencils.

Here's our sketch for this week.

I've used some Kraft card, cheater on my stripes for the sketch by using stripy design paper LOL!  My design papers are from Lemoncraft and Studio Lite.

The sentiment from Lili of the Valley has also been coloured with Copic and for the balloons in the sketch I've used some wood chip ones from Mismasz to make it look like the girl is holding them.

Hope you like my inspiration for today and we see you at the challenge

Vision turned reality

I'm sharing a very special creation with you tonight.  This one is a commission.  Ged who works with my hubby approached me with a commission in mind which I managed to turn into reality on a card for her.  We had quite a bit of communication so I could get this just perfect for her.

Her friend has a cat and she had this vision of a cats head (Suki) floating in the middle of a pumpkin vine with candy corn.  The rest was up to me to try come up with something spookily suitable.  Ged also didn't have any specific ideas about colours.  Although she started to go through some colour selections we could discuss, I showed her a pic of a first version of the card with the dark blue background.  She loved it so much she asked me to use it for the final card and then left all the colour choices up to me.
Suki being a pale ginger tabby is so adorably cute - I just hope I've done her justice.  She's actually paler in real life than I've coloured her here.  I'm still trying to get use to doing fine detail with Copics so I laid down some colour for the cats head and eyes then finished it off with polychromoc pencils.  The look I wanted was of fine soft fur and a glow in her eyes.

Everything else on the card has been coloured with Copics giving a vibrant look on the dark background.

Here you can see a close up of some of the pumpkin vine around the image.  I've added a few skulls into the mix, running some of the creepers through the skulls.

I the picture below you can see I've added a rata perfect addition to a dreamy cat's world.

The background, coloured with Copics have been given some texture.  An effect Faye showed Helen and I while on a recent Copics class with her.  I've used champagne (Faye will under stand that) and a sponge.  I've shown a particularly good section of it in the photo above.

To the top right of the cat is a crow, another perfect cat dream world addition.  I've achieved this look by adding the colour and then using a blender pen to bleach out some highlights on the feathers.

Cat's love the night and hunting so I decided to add in a glowing moon.  Across this I've added some wispy clouds and a few bats.  The glow of the moon if carried down towards the cat's face.

Finally here's the card as a whole.  Ged I'm very happy to say loves the card which will be passed onto her friend for Halloween.

This is only my second commission and I'm so happy with how it went.

Would love your feedback

Traditional Christmas

The image has been coloured with Copics and polychromos pencils (I need a lesson in how to colour birds with Copics only LOL!)

I've added a little DecoArt glitter to the snow.

Creating a clan and simple card to showcase the image I've just doodled a border.  The sentiment was done at the time of printing.

Hope you love my little bit of the traditional Christmas

Pretty in pink

I've a few commissions on at the moment.  This one has been created for a friend for her nephew.  They're expecting their first baby soon and its going to be a girl :)

AND this is the perfect for our new challenge at Fussy and Fancy Fridays which is my favourite PINK!!

Now it's been a while since I've used a Lili of the Valley Stamp.  I pretty much haven't a lot of room so I was delighted to find they've started to do digi images!

This one is Cosy Pram.
The image was coloured with Copics.  I've cut it out in a circle and used some Tim Holtz vintage photo ink on the edges.  On top of this I've scattered some embossing enamel.  Behind it is a die cut scalloped circle from Spellbinders.  I've used some pink stripy paper from Maja Design.

The other layers of paper behind are also from Maja Design and all have been distressed with a Tonic Solutions tool.

Between the layers of paper are two different lace pieces.  The flowers and lace were both bought from Noor Design.
The sentiment coloured with Copics is a Lili of the Valley one.  I've added a few pearls, a wooden heart shape and a banner cut with a Fantasy die (also from Noor Design)

Hope you love my inspiration and we see you at the challenge

Gnome for Christmas

Something a little different for Christmas?  Well here he is - this image has just been named, released in my shop and lucky random winners picked in my Facebook Group.

I've coloured him with Copics, I'm slowly getting there but need more practice to get the finer detail.  So I finished him off with a black polychromos pencil for some extra shading.  (I didn't want to mess him up!)

I've used one design paper from Maja Design and some red card to frame him.

Hope you love my new creation

Black n Red Heart Vase

We're onto the second week at Outlawz Sketch with DigiStamps4Joy as our sponsor.

I've used Vase of Hearts this week for my inspiration.  I've been practicing my Copic colouring since been on my colouring course and used them on this image.

Here's our sketch for this week

The image was hand cut using the inner section of a Spellbinders die.  I then used the same die to cut the black frame for the image.  The edges of the image were distressed with Vintage Photo ink from Tim Holtz.

The design paper is from Tim Holtz and I've also used some more black card.  The organza ribbon was from Crafty Ribbons and the flowers are a mixture from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Hope you like my inspiration for today and we see you at the challenge

Flower Banner

We're sponsored this month by DigiStamps4Joy at Outlawz Sketch.  I've chosen to use one of the images I already had in my stash for this one called Music Sheet.  The flower shapes were perfect for the sketch.
For this image I've used ProMarkers and polychromos pencils to colour it.  Mainly because I can get a very soft look to the colours - something I need to develop with my Copics.

Here's our sketch for this week

I must admin I was a bit flummoxed at first.  I browsed through my image I'd already got stamped and printed for inspiration.  I spotted the Music Sheet image but also some stamped tags from Lili of the Valley I hadn't done anything with.  They're all different shaped and sizes which was perfect for the sketch.

I've used papers from First Edition, Lili of the Valley and 13 Arts, some of which were distressed.

Over the tags I've added some Lace from the Ribbon Girl and some from Live and Love Crafts when it was open.  The sentiment is laser cut woodchip from Scrapienic.

Hope you love my inspiration for today and we see you at the challenge

Pink pearly and girly

I went on Faye's Copic Colouring classes last week and this was one of the images we got to practice folds on.  She's called Time to Sparkle and is available as a stamps.  You can find lots more of Wendy's images in her Etsy shop here.
Once I'd cut her out in an oval shape it was distressed with Spun Sugar and Vintage Photo ink from Tom Holtz.  I then added some embossing enamel.  She was them mounted onto pink paper from Maja Design cut with a Spellbinders die to add a fancy border to the image.

I've used someKraft card, more paper from Maja Design and Studio Lite.  All the papers were distresed with Vintage Photo ink an, then a Tonic solutions distressign tool.

To complete the card I've added some pearls to fit in with the challenge theme, a wooden heart (from Hobby Craft wedding section) and a laser cut wood chip embellishment from Scrapienic.
