Let there be cake

Definitely a saying at my place of work, I don't think there's a week goes by without someone bringing cake in!

This week is Team B's turn at Through The Craft Room Door and we're sponsored by Oak Pond Creations.  The image I've chosen for my card is Snack Cat.

Hopefully the way I've coloured the cat has made it look fluffy and furry :)  Here's a closer look at the image for you.

More details of what I've used to create this card can be found in Through The Craft Room Door's magazine.

Ok now it's your turn to show us what you can do and good luck

Flower fairy

It took me a while to finish this little beauty from Aurora Wings she's called The Green Fairy and I've chosen to do her in pale yellow surrounded by purple and lilac flowers.  I did this with ProMarkers then cut her out and mounted her onto some black card stock.  There's some glitter added to the very edges of her wings to make her more ethereal.  Here's a closer look at the image for you.

I've kept the card fairly simple as I wanted the image to be the main focus.

Added extras are some flowers and leaves from Wild Orchid Crafts, self adhesive gems, silver dragonfly beads, a silver butterfly bead and some liquid pearl in white.  I've only used one design paper for this card - some lilac paper from ili of the Valley.

Lilac vase

When it was Mother's Day in the UK I got cleaned out of flower cards.  I've been meaning to make some more and this is my first.  The image I've used is from Lïli of the Valley - Lilacs.  I've coloured it with ProMarkers then mounted it onto some plain black card stock.

Design papers are all from Lïli of the Valley and have been distressed.  The birthday sentiment is also from them from one of their art pads and I've coloured that with purple ProMarker as well.

Here's a close up of the coloured image for you.

The only other thing I've added to finish the card off are some purple and pearlised white self adhesive gems.  Hopefully I'll get chance to do some more soon

Tour de Yorkshire

It's time to reveal the rest of my card from my sneak peek last week.
I was thrilled to be asked to be a guest designer for the current challenge at All Dressed Up.  AND I realised how appropriately I'd picked an image that coincides with the Tour de Yorkshire - even better because that's where I'm from!

Picking an image to work with wasn't an easy decision there are so many lovely ones.  This one is Girl on a Bike.  I had a couple of ideas when I started and started to try one out - but I loved what I'd done so much I didn't start the second one.

The image is coloured in grey Copics with colours being ProMarkers.  I've then cut the image out and mounted it onto some black card stock.  Here's a close up of the image for you.

The design papers are from Santoro Gorjuss, Lili of the Valley and Prima Marketing.  All the papers have been distressed as you can see below.
The only other thing I've added are some black self adhesive gems in keeping with the theme.  I've left the card fairly plain apart from this as I wanted the gorgeous image to be the focus of the card.

Thank you so much Wendy and the lovely DT ladies at All Dressed Up for giving me the opportunity to be a guest designer.

It's a girl thing

So is it just me or is it a girl thing?  Most girls I know love shoes :) this is why I picked this image Mad About Shoes from the Paper Shelter our sponsors.  The new theme at The ABC Challenge is I is for Inspire Us and we want to see your style!

I've chosen to do this card in a vintage theme with brown ProMarkers and a Tim Holtz distress inks.

The design papers are from Lili of the Valley and Tim Holtz.

Added to my card are some Dutch DooBaDoo hearts which I bought from Lili of the Valley in their shop.

Some pearl bead string from Wild Orchid Crafts and some cream organza ribbon with a hand tied bow from The Ribbon Girl.  Finally some gold self adhesive gems.

Here's a closed up of the girl and get shoes

Ok that's it for my inspiration for this time, now it's up to you to show us what you can do

Cool

I've had this image for a while but never had chance to colour it up and make a card.  I was looking for something a little different and this was the one I decided on.  The image is Just So Cool from All  Dressed Up.

It's coloured with ProMarkers and cut out with a Spellbinders die.  I wanted to keep the card fairly simple and just picked some co-ordinating design papers from Lili of the Valley and Wild Rose Studio.  In addition I've used some plain red card stock and some red and black self adhesive gems.

The final thing I added was a silver musical note which I got from The Ribbon Girl.  Here's a close up so you can see the image coloured with the note.

I'm sure I'll find a suitable teenager to give this card to :)

It's Magic!!!

Today I have some inspiration for you with an image from Oddball Art.  The theme this month is SPRING.  This is a mid way reminder so you still have a couple of weeks to enter.  The theme is an easy one and it's helped by the fact that I have a discount code you can use at checkout to get 10% off any item in store if you want to use an Oddball Art digi and haven't got one.  Just quote DTANDREA10 :)  of course you can enter with any image  it doesn't have to be an a oddball one.

So here's my inspiration for you....

I let my imagination run free :)  This new image from Oddball Art by Lizzy - is no 198 and has a long description but if you use my link it will take you straight there.  I loved this image when I first saw it and really wanted to do it especially since I had this idea - so I tried it out - and wow it came out better than I hoped!

I've coloured her in pastels with ProMarkers and used some biro to highlight her hair.  Outside the image I've done some extra swirly bits for the magic and movement through the air.

The carpet is riding on a magical pink, yellow and glitter  panel which was created using ProMarkers and some DecoArt glitter.  Here's a close up for you

So my idea was to do her floating through the air through some trees.  I didn't want the trees to drown her out though and wanted to keep the card simple so it showcased the beautiful image.  I sketched a few branches at the top left then took to pieces some hortensias (Kort and Godt) I'd got from Live and Love Crafts to create the petals on the branches.  The only other thing I've added are some tiny silver dragonfly beads.

Ok that's me done - now lets see what you can do :)
