Unbelievably cute

Have you seen these amazingly cute images that Lizzy from Oddball Art Co has just released!  These seal images are actually the same one I've flipped one image and made it slightly larger and in front of the other to give it perspective.

Anyway....more about how I did these in a minute. You can find these images on Etsy and they're part of a fund raiser we're doing to help the seals in Canada.  Every image that is purchased Lizzy is passing on the full amount received to the seal fund!  AND what's even better for you is I have a discount code you can use to purchase these with 10% off just quote DTANDREA10 at the checkout.  There are also some sentiments to go with the seals.

To find out how we're doing on the fundraising you can check it out on the Oddball Art Co blog.  You can also see what other makes my fellow DT have made.

EVEN BETTER
We still have the challenge live on the blog for Make a Card for a Cause.  So you could do a double whammy get yourself in for a chance to win some images and help us to raise some money.  Of course you don't have the do a card for the seals it could e another cause close to your heart.  Cancer research, hospices, Alzheimer's etc. :)

So..... back to how I did the card.  Once printed I used Copics (I've a full set of neutral greys) to colour the seals.  I  then used red ProMarkers for the hearts and blue and light grey for the ocean waves.  Now I've had a little practice at colouring water so it came in very handy here.  I picked out some of the ripples around the seals and coloured the lower part of these in blue.  The light grey was put to the left of the blue to create some shadow.  I left the tops of the waves white.  I then did a few scattered waves around the back of the seals.

The whole image was cut out to showcase the seals and make a clean and simple card.  I just picked some red card stock and blue design paper from Lili of the Valley to create an outside border.

The sentiment and XOXO were created with letter beads and the wording is similar to the sentiments you can get on Etsy to go with the seals.

Final touch some large blue self adhesive gems to go with the seal.

Please come and help us save some seals

Sassy pirate girl

A swanky sassy little pirate girl would you mess with her having a sword like that ;)

I've been dying to colour this image up and make her into a card.  This one is Lucy Loo Pirates from The East Wind.  I've coloured her with ProMarkers, cut her our with a Spellbinders die then edged it with grey ProMarker.

I've kept the whole card mainly red, brown and black.  The design papers I've used are from Prima Marketing - Engraver for the background and Lili of the Valley Hearfelt and Father Knows Best.

I've added some Steampunk style metal charms to embellish the card as well adding some Tim Holtz grungeboard elements (coloured with ProMarker and distress ink).

Hope you like my sassy little pirate

Easter bunny

Don't know if anyone noticed I've snuck another one on my side bar.  I've joined the Outlawz and today is my first card on the sketch team.  Wednesday is going to be my regular day with them and my bonus is I'll be working with Sandra and Darcy again :) of course I've a whole new gang to get to know as well!

The images we're using this month are from Drawn Character who have kindly sponsored the challenges.  I've coloured the image with ProMarkers, cut it out and mounted it onto some black card stock to give it a border.

I'm not used to using sketches all the time so this is going to be a learning curve for me - but I like a challenge and hope I'll be able to create some beautiful cards to inspire you.

So.... working with this first sketch I've used papers from Lili of the Valley, to create some layers. I've topped that off with some ribbon from The Ribbon Girl before mounting my image over the top.  From my crafty stash I've used some self adhesive gems, a pearl swirl and some flower gems.

So now it's over to you to show us your makes using this sketch :)

Cheeky

As it's annual renewal time for subscriptions at Through The Craft Room Door the design team have been given free reign to produce what we like for this challenge starting 7 April.

The cheeky little image I've chosen is from Oddball Art Co Ivy Peek a Boo Image 166.  I've coloured the image with ProMarkers and cut it out with a Spellbinders die.  I've then edged it with purple ProMarker before mounting it onto the card.

I wanted to keep the theme of the whole card purple.  The design papers I've used are from Lili of the Valley.  As you can see all the papers have been distressed.

Added to this is a lace corner from The Ribbon Girl.

Other embellishments on this card - some purple organza ribbon with a hand tied bow, some pearlised self adhesive gems, some purple self adhesive gems and some pearlised hearts - all from my crafty stash.

It makes a change for the design team to have an anything goes theme to inspire you :)  So now it's over to you!

Lily of the Valley

This is a different sort of lily of the valley - it's not the On-line shop you all know and love, rather the fairy is sitting in amongst lily of the valley flowers.
The image is Shaylee from Art by Miran.  I've coloured her with ProMarkers, then just cut her out and mounted her onto some black card stock to give her a border.  I wanted this beautiful image to be the main focus of my card.  I've added some DecoArt glitter to her wings to make them shimmer.  Here's a close up for you.

Papers used are from Lili of the Valley, yes the shop ;)  I've added some purple organza ribbon and some self adhesive gems from my crafty stash.

The rose corner is from Live and Love Crafts from their resin collection.

I've added in this close up of the flowers I've added to the bottom left of the image.  The Kort & Godt hortensias are from Live and Love Crafts and the rose buds are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Hope you love what I've done with Shaylee

Happy Easter from Crafty Boots

A while ago I won a guest DT spot at Crafty Boots and today is the day it as gone live :)  Now some of the girls there were surprised to find I'm such a "young" crafter (not in years but in time I've been doing this).  I've only been really blogging and making cards properly since August 2014.

The theme is an Easter one and I debated for a while which image to use.  I finally decided on Easter Basket Image 35 from Oddball Art.

I've coloured the image with ProMarkers in pastels, cut it out with a Spellbinders Die and edged it with distress ink to make it stand out from the backing paper.

Design papers (which have all been edged with distress ink to make the layers stand out) are from Lili of the Valley.  The sentiment is also from Lili of the Valley from one of their stamp sets.

I wanted a spring flower cascading border effect to top left corner around the sentiment.  To do this I've used flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts and Live and Love Crafts.  I've also added flowers to the bottom left and to the left of the basket.

To finish off the card I'e used some tiny brass butterflies charms to add to the spring feel and some pearlised self adhesive gems.

I hope you all like my guest DT card for Crafty Boots and have given you some inspiration

Crafty girl ;)

Anyone managed to get any crafting done yet this weekend?  I've used Kiki Kool Colors Image 157 for this card.  She's colour with ProMarkers.  I wanted to keep a simple theme so kept to red, white and blue colours.

She's cut out and mounted onto some black card stock to give her a border.

Papers are layered (believe it or not a total of 7!) and from Lili of the Valley and Wild Rose Studio.

The only other embellishments are some complimenting red self adhesive gems (two lot of three) some tiny black gems and some letter beads to spell the sentiment "sketch" and a red wooden heart.

Happy crafting :)
