Meeting of herds

When I saw the latest challenge from Winter Wonderland - Scandinavian Style, I just had to create a reindeer card for it.

The reindeers I got from Hobbycraft last year.  I added shadows and hoof prints with a grey Pro-Lite Marker.
The trees are from Artoz Artwork, the holly is from a pack if Dress It Up Buttons and the Christmas ribbon sentiment is from Hobbycraft.
I finished the card off with self adhesive gems.

A very simple card to make!

Happy Christmas, yes I know it's early :)

Make a wish......

I thought I'd experiment with one of Lili of the Valley's word stamps rather than image stamps for a first card in their latest challenge "Pretty Papers".  I was hoping at the end for a vintage looking card.

I've used papers from three different paper stacks that can be bought in their shop
Lili of the Valley & Raspberry Road Designs Antebellum, Beach Bliss and Pressed in Times.  The paper sections are backed with a brown paper.  I've stamped the image in burgundy ink using a sentiment from the Grunge and Vintage Set 43 - Statements - Fabulous.  The stamped sentiment was hand cut with scissors rather than being cut with my BigShot.

I've added five different types of paper roses, leaves from Wild Orchid Crafts and some vintage cream lace purchased from Hobby Craft.

The butterflies are 3-d toppers from Hobby Craft from part of a flower set.

Finally I've finished the card off with some self adhesive gems.

The end results was better than I hoped for, although it did take a while for me to get my head round a design - not my normal card at all and no planning in the car this time :)

Happy crafting all

Blue Birthday

I struggled to focus on single a colour to go for the background of this card after colouring Emmeline (from Make It Crafty) in lots of different colours.  I haven't done a "blue" based card for a while so thought I'd go with her hair.   Coloured the image using Pro-Lite Markers.

I'd also thought I'd try another sketch from Papertake Weekly - this one was sketch 81.

The backing papers are from Lili of the Valley and NitWits Collections - Petal Fresh and Solids - Snow Princess
The blue background ribbon is from Lili of the Valley Little Bags of Ribbons - Blue, the ribbon and bow with black hearts on a cream background are from Santoros Gorjuss.
I added a sentiment from Express Yourself DIY and finished the card off with self adhesive gems, blue and pink flowers, blue gems and white pearl hearts

I've entered this card into
Papertake Weekly's Challenge - Sketchie Free For All
Divas By Design Challenge - Happy Birthday

Think next time I colour Emmeline I might try it with fewer colours?!?!

Black & White Christmas

I was inspired to try a black and white Christmas card by the Winter Wonderland's Challenge - Gingham or Checks
I saw some of the design teams examples and a few of the other entries and went to look at what I had to play with in my stash.  I found a roll of black and white gingham ribbon from Hobby Craft and let my mind wander.  I find I'm actually at my most creative whilst travelling up and down the motorway to work and back!  Boredom probably :)

So I thought what if I try and do an image in black, grey and white for starters to see what that looked like.  I used Ice Skating from Lili of the Valley and coloured it using Pro-Lite Markers.

Once I'd done that decided to use sketch 62 from Papertake Weekly to help me design the card.

After rejecting some black and white checked paper (it was a bit too much) I used papers from Lili of the Valley and NitWits Collections Solids - Snow Princess, Lili of the Valley & Raspberry Road Designs - Father Knows Best, and First Edition Papers - Gilded Winter.  I also used some black and red plain card.

The sentiment is a chipboard one from Hobby Craft which I coloured with a black Pro-Lite Marker

Extra embellishments are self adhesive gems, tiny black dots, red peals and a red heart

I've entered this card into the following
Papertake Weeklys Challenge - Sketchie Free For All
Winter Wonderlands Challenge - Gingham or Checks

Something a little bit different for Christmas

"Elegant" Birthday

Our friend Sara is having a party for her 40th birthday - the theme being Elegant.
I wanted to try and make her a birthday card that would be in keeping with this theme.

The stamp I used was Uptown Girl Audrey Loves Makeup from Stamping Bella.  The image was coloured using Pro-Lite Markers.

Papers are from Docrafts Papermania Capsule Collection - Midnight Blush and Tim Holtz Idea-ology.  I've also used some plain red and black card.
The ribbons are from Lili of the Valley Little Bags of Ribbons - Red and I also some black satin ribbon from Hobby Craft
I made the birthday sentiment from some Hobby Craft Alphabet Stickers and the 40 from some Glitter Alphabet Stickers.  I finished off with some self adhesive gems.
To help me create this card I used sketch 65 from Papertake Weekly.

Pink Roses

I've never tried to combine stamp images on a card before so this was a first for me.  With the current challenge from In The Pink (Fairies and Elves) at the back of my mind I wanted to do a pink fairy for it, after my attempt at a pink elf.

I've used Lili of the Valley's Fairies - On Tiptoe for the main image.  Behind this I've used Grunge and Vintage Set 47 - Background Bits Old Romance.  I've also used part of this same set to make the top right corner piece on the card.
All the stamped images were coloured with Pro-Lite Markers
The papers are from Lili of the Valley and NitWit Collections paper pad Always and Forever Solids and On A high Note
The pink ribbon is from Lili of the Valley Little Bags of Ribbon - Pink.  The white lace is also from Lili of the Valley from when I visited their shop recently.
All the paper flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and I added some metal hearts around the flowers which I got in Hobby Craft
The extra embellishments are self adhesive pearl gems and a couple of mini brass butterflies.
To finish off I added some glitter to the fairies wings

The card actually came out better than I'd hoped so I entered it into the In The Pink Challenge 51 and Addicted to Stamps Challenge - Pastels (Soft) Colours.  Let the experiments continue :)

Pink Butterfly Elf

I found this Make it Crafty stamp Elven Samenah at Quixotic Paperie.  She looks kind of SteamPunk so I wan't quite sure which way to go.

As In The Pink have challenge #51 on at the moment which is Pink Faries and Elves I thought I'd have a go at doing her pink and enter her.  I coloured the image with Pro-Lite Markers.

Papers were from First Edition Rose Garden, Lili of the Valley and NitWits Collections - Solids - Bonnets and Bowties and Solids - Always and Forever.

Embellishments are two types of silver metal butterflies some paper flowers and self adhesive pearl gems.

Happy Friday everyone!
