Sweet dreams

I'm finishing off my month of sponsorship at Outlawz Sketch with this little bit of inspiration.

This little cutie is Morpheus.  He's been coloured with ProMarkers and I've added some black polychromos pencil to give the shadows more depth.

Here's our sketch for today

The papers are black card stock and Lemoncraft.

I've used Spellbinders dies and Marianne Design dies and a paper flower in the middle of the two paper swirls.

Little black gems and some green enamel dots complete the look.

Jo's Daffodils

I so enjoyed creating this.  A guy who my hubby works with wanted a card for his wife's 60th birthday.  He loved the simplicity of my freesias image and card.  He asked if I could create one with daffodils, her favourite flower.  I just sent him the photo of the finished card this morning and he love it!

I've coloured this image with Copics, ProMarkers and polychromos pencils.  The commission was for a CAS style card.  the sentiment created at the time of printing the image.

I've finished the card by doing a little biro doodling, adding a couple of sequins and a scattering of gems

Blue hues

We're half way through the Blue challenge on the blog.  It's reminder day and I though for a change I'd stick with the theme :D

I've coloured Bella with ProMarkers adding a little black polychromos pencil for extra depth in the shading.  I've also added a pink glitter heart from Paperchase next to her.

The image and design papers from Maja Design and Joy Crafts have been distressed.  Also before I mounted in onto the backing paper I distressed the edges of the image with Milled Lavender distress ink from Tim Holtz.

I've hardly used any embellishments on this card, only a few gems and a wood chip love heart.

Virgo

I managed to find some time today to make Virgo into a card.  This is a new image just released at SheepSki Designs - you can find it in my shop here.

This image was coloured with Copics and I've added a little black polychromos pencil for added depth

Just making her into a CAS card I've embellished the card with a few rhine stones, a sequin and a little biro doodling.

Pretty parasol

It's new sketch day at Outlawz :D

I'm sponsoring our sketch team for August.  This image I'm using today is Becca you can find her here on Etsy.

I've coloured her with ProMarkers, cut her out with a Spellbinders die and used some antique linen distress ink from Tim Holts on the edges.

I've used design papers from Joy Crafts and some black card stock.  The banners were cut using off cuts of papers and a La La Land Die.

Embellishments of pearls, some paper flowers and wooden hearts are my finishing touches.

I've combined two images for this card image 324 is Alice and image 325 is the White Rabbit

I've created a CAS card to showcase the images.  I've used ProMakers to do this and a little black polychromos to add extra depth to the shading.

All I've added to this one is a little biro to frame the card.

Nothing but hearts

So this is my second posting for the new release today at Oddball Art - all is themed Alice in wonderland.  Check out my second post today which has images of Alice and the White Rabbit :D

The queen of Hearts is image 326.  She's been coloured with ProMarkers and I've added a little black polychromos pencil of extra depth to the shading.

The mage had been mounted onto some black card stock to frame it.  Design papers a re a real mixed bag on this one Santoro, Lili of the Valley, Maja Design and Wild Rose Studio.

The tiny heart embellishments and the heart banner are from Scrapienec, the red hears are some stickers from Paperchase.  I've also added a clay heart from Live and Love Crafts and some black gems to finish it off.

Birthday balloons

I've used Flump n Tic for my inspiration today, coloured with Copics, ProMarkers and polychromos pencils.  You should be able to see from this first picture that I've sketched some clouds into the background too.

This is our sketch for today

I've flipped the sketch and instead of using some ribbon I've drawn some more balloons.  These I coloured in pink to match with the theme of the rest of the card - hopefully making the single blue balloon pop!

The edges of the image were treated with some Milled Lavender ink from Tim Holtz before mounting it onto some black card stock.

The birthday sentiment is a Spellbinders die and I've used a couple of black gems

Design paper are from Maja Design.

First Steampunk :D

This is the first Steampunk image I've drawn.  I absolutely love Steampunk and I'll hope fully do some more.

I actually started drawing this image back in April then got distracted doing other things.  I finally had chance to finish her at the weekend.  She's called Victoria and you can find her in my shop SheepSki Designs on Etsy - click here!

I've coloured the image and background with Copics, ProMarkers and polychromos pencils.

The image comes just as Victoria on her own.  When I was printing her off I thought it would be cool to create my own Steampunk background so I used some Tim Holtz cogs and sketched three huge cogs into the background.

Once I'd finished the colouring I distressed the image, a piece of brown design paper from Lili of the Valley and some black card stock.  Once I'd put the card togehter I sketch a biro border in them added some metal embellishments - Tim Holtz cogs, sprockets etc. of course :D

Feelin blue....

We've a new challenge starting today at Oddball Art on the blog - For You Blue.  I though this image no 111 was perfect for my inspiration - when you're ill your feeling blue :(

I've chosen to colour this image in monochromatic blues using ProMarkers to fit in with the them of the challenge.  there's a tiny pop of red on the end of the thermometer and the XO to the right of the image.

Keeping with the blue theme I've kept the card simple just latering up some design paper from Maja Design.

Snowball Fight

The new challenge at the ABC Challenge today is N for Noel.  We're sponsored this time by Magnolia-liscious

I've used in The Snow Ski Tilda stamp for my inspiration.  I had a little whoops when I stamped the image - you might be able to spot it if you look closely ;)

Tilda has been coloured with ProMarkers and then the edges distressed.  I've also used some antique linen distress ink from Tim Holtz.

The design papers are from Maja Design, all hand cut and some distressed.  I've used three dies for this card from.  The tree one is from Marianne Design Creatables, the ice one from Joy Crafts.  The tiny snowflakes are from a Spellbinders label and are left overs.

On the edges of the trees I've used some Milled Lavender ink from Tim Hotlz. 

The icicles and snowflakes as well as around the snow at Tilda's feet have had some DecoArt loose glitter added to give some sparkle.

The snow was one using Snowtex.  There are some white pearl gems, some pompom trim and a piece of lace to complete the card.  I think that's everything :D

Down at the beach

We're supposed to be having a bit of a hot spell in the UK over the next few days.  So I've coloured up Three Little Summer Girls from All Dressed Up to get you in the mood.  Hopefully we'll see some sun at the weekend and it won't just appear during the week!

There gorgeous little girls have been coloured using ProMarkers.  I've also created my own background using the ProMarkers and a little black polychromos pencil for extra shadow (sea, beach and clouds)

I've kept the card very simple to showcase the image just cutting the image short of the base card so the white behind frames it.

My only added touch was with a biro.  I added a few seagulls :D

New Pens and Experimentation

You all probably know by now I do LOTS of experimenting.  I got some new pens at Comicon a coupe of weeks ago.  I finally had a gap in drawing/ DT works etc. etc.  So it was time to play with my pens.

This image I've used here is Fuchsias you can find it here at SheepSki Designs on Etsy 

So then new pens are Chameleon pens.  They're quite different using blended ink as a starting point and building the colour up - or alternatively you can just use them as ordinary alcohol markers.

I've used the blending inks method here on these flowers.

Once I'd got the colour on I've added a little polychromos pencil to add to the intensity of colour and shading.

The image cut out with a Spellbinders die has then been distressed.

I've tried something really different with this card using very pale pastel design papers with just the main image having tons of colour to make it pop.  I'm not quite sure what I think of it but I know my hubby loves it.  It would be great to get some feedback.

Anyway the design papers (distressed) are from Lemoncraft.  There are a couple of white paper butterflies, some pearlised gems, tiny silver dragonfly beads and a couple of resin corners.  The design paper directly behind the image has been cut with a Spellbinders die to add some interest to the background without it overpowering the image.

A little bee?

It wasn't until I'm just getting the post ready that I realised my card looks a little bee like.  Only orange and black rather than yellow and black - LOL!!

Any way for my inspiration card this week for Outlawz Sketch I've used Kitty Mannequin Model you can find her here in my shop.  I'm sponsoring the challenge this month.

I've coloured Kitty with Pro-Markers, cut her out and mounted her onto some black card stock.

Mini Mel

A while ago a created this digital image Mel's Fancy Dress.  She's my take on a young Maleficent with a little crow friend.  But because of similarities in her appearance to Maleficent I've decided not to put her in my shop as an item to buy in case of any copyright infringement issues with Disney!

I drew this image for my mum - she's a real Maleficent fan.

I've tried out some new pens for the colouring of this image.  They're called Chameleon Pens.  I've not got used to them yet but hope to have more of a play with them soon.  The colouring was finished off with poelychromos pencils a little black and dark purple.

The background was done with Chameleon pens and a black artists pen. 

I definitely needed to keep this as a CAS card to showcase Mel and her little crow.  All I've done is mounted her onto some back card stock and distressed the edges of both.

My finishing touch was to add the sentiment in biro "Wen I grow up I want to be a Dragon!"

I love retro, have you seen this image form The Paper Shelter :D

I've used it for my inspiration for my guest design spot at Scrapping4Fun today.  The theme is take a break.

I've coloured this image with ProMarkers keeping to a simple pallet of red, white and blue.  The sentiment was printed at the same time as the image so i could produce a one layer CAS card.

That's is short and sweet, now embellishments or anything WOW!!

A Little Lucky

For the month of August I'm sponsoring Outlawz Sketch team.  This is the group of ladies I first did some drawings for before I opened my shop.

For the first sketch I decided to use Lucky.  He's image no 13, the 13th one I drew.  I decided he had to be Lucky rather than Unlucky hence the name!  You can find him in my shop here.

I've coloured him with Copics.  Cut out with a Spellbinders die, he's mounted onto some black card stock cut with another Spellbinders die.

Here you can see her coloured as I intended in a very comic book style.  I've used Copics for a monochrome effect and used pops of red.

For the challenge you will be asked to colour her in purple, green, orange, black and silver.

Anyway back to the card I created in comic book style.  I've distressed the edges and used some distressed black card stock.  In the back ground I sketched in a couple of bats with biro.

To finish her off I've used some black glitter stick on letters making her name up.
