Balancing act

Lizzy has done some amazing mermaids for us for her new release this time.  Check out the main blog for all the DT's fantastic inspiration.

I've used new release image 319 for my inspiration.  Which is of a gorgeous mermaid balancing a star fish on her finger!
I've made a CAS style card to showcase the image.  Just distressing some black card and the image.

The rest has been done with ProMarkers.

I've tried to get an underwater effect with sunlight shining through the surface layers with the darker ocean underneath. So the whole card goes from light to dark.

Hope you love my inspiration for this image

3000 members at All Dressed Up!

Yay we've finally reached 3000 members at All Dressed Up.  To celebrate Wendy has created this gorgeous girly image for you.

This image reminder me so much of my friend Diane and me out drinking cocktails on a Friday night :D

The image is called Time To Celebrate and I've chosen to colour mine in red and black with Copics.  the edges of the image have been distressed with vintage photo ink from Tim Holtz.

Wendy should have it in the shop soon if you've not been able to pick it up as the freebie - here the link to her shop on Etsy

The design papers I used are from Docrafts and First Edition.  I've also used some red and black card stock.

My only embellishments for this one are some black gems and a tiny wooden xoxo sentiment.

If you haven't already seen our challenge in the Facebook Group is girly and this image is just perfect for you to enter with

Our blog challenge will start up on 15 August - so not long to wait now :D

Happy Crafting!!

Robots are for girls too...

....everyone always think robots are a guy thing bit I love them too :D

Today is Oddball Art challenge reminder day for the blog.  Our theme for this month is Little Child if you want to join in

The image I've used here for my inspiration today is number 296.  I've coloured it with Copics and chosen to stick with a pink and grey colour pallet.

Papers are from Docrafts and Maja Design.  All have been distressed and the image has also been distressed.

Using a robot image I had to use some cogs.  I've had these in my stash for ages and have lost the packaging - sorry ladies I can't remember who they're from - ANYWAY - I also coloured them with Copics :D

Hope you love my inspiration for today.

Flowers, bubbles and fairies

Sponsored by Sami Stamps this time at Outlawz Sketch team this is my last inspiration card using their images this month

My colouring for these images were done with ProMarkers and I've used some black polychromos pencil in the bubbles.

This first image is called Butterfly Flower

This next one is called Flower Bath

And this last one is called Ladybug Poppies

This is out sketch for this week

For my card I created an 8" by 8", mainly because when I tried to piece it together I realised that the images were just that little bit too big for my standard 6" x 6"

There was no design paper used for this card,  I've just used white and black card stock and some biro to do some doodling to add borders to my images.

Scattered across the images are some sequins and rhine stones to add a bit of bling and to fit with the bubble theme :D

Beach Boy

I've finally had a little time to get this image coloured up and a CAS card made to show it off.  The image is called Kris and is available at SheepSki Designs - click here to check it out.
I've used ProMarkers and a little black polychromos pencil for a bit of added depth.

Plain and simple - this is a one layer card with a sentiment that was created at the time of printing.

A little added extra in the background are some seagulls with a biro.

Freebie - All Dressed Up with Kit and Clowder

Here's she is all coloured up.  If you'd like to find out how she can be yours for free pop along to Kit and Clowder and follow Alyce's instructions.

This image has been created by Wendy especially for this event - so we (the design team) were very lucky to get to play with her first.  You can find more of Wendy's gorgeous images on Etsy.

I've coloured mine with ProMarkers in lovely bright summery colours.

She's been cut out and mounted onto some design paper from Joy Crafts.  Around the edge of the image I've done a little doodling with a biro.  The sentiment I've added is one from Lili of the Valley also coloured with ProMarkers.

The flowers I've finished my inspiration off with are fabric ones from Petaloo (first time I've used these) and a few scattered papers ones which I got in Hobby Craft.

Hope you love my inspiration and we hope to see you join in the Facebook challenge - themed girly, or the new challenge on the blog when it starts 15 August

Lucky black cat

For out new sketch challenge this week at Outlawz I've used Flower Whiskers from Sami Stamps, our sponsor for the month.

I've coloured the image with Copics, and used Spellbinders dies to cut out the yellow design paper and black card stock to frame the image.

Here's our sketch for this week.

I've decided to make mine into a gift bag :D
The design papers are from Lili of the Valley and BeBunni with some more black card stock.

I've finished the bag off with a sentiment from Lili of the Valley coloured with ProMarkers and a scattering of while and yellow flowers.

Hope you love my inspiration and see you at the challenge

Sun sea and cocktails

I'm honoured today to be doing a Guest Design Spot for Naz over at Sasayaki Glitter.  This image is called Party Shy

He's such a cutie and such a joy to colour :D
I've used ProMarkers and Copics to colour the image.  For the first time ever I decided to use blue highlights for hair and I'm pretty happy with how they came out.  I've stuck with a red, white and blue theme for this card.  Most of it is blue with the fish and cherry in the cocktail providing the pop of red.
To create the water I've used horizontal strokes with a light blue then added in some shading with deeper colour and polychromos pencils.  I tried to keep most of the shading to one side so it looks like gently lapping waves.
The sky was done by sketching some clouds in with a light blue ProMarker the adding more depth of colour towards the top of the image

The sentiment was added at the time of printing.  I've added a little doodling in biro to frame the image and also added in a couple of seagulls.

The design paper I've mounted the image onto is from Maja Design finishing off this CAS card which is the current them of the Sasayaki Glitter challenge.

Hope you love what I've done and will go pay them a visit.  There is also a Facebook Group Sasayai Glitter where Naz often has freebies :D

Pistachio ice cream with rasberry sause

It's new release day at Oddball Art - Lizzy has a mixture this time of cute and creepy cute images.  Check out the main blog to see what the design team have made for your inspiration.

Soooo.... onto the image.  I got to play with image number 314 this time.  The sentiment that goes with it is one I kinda remember chanting about ice-cream when I was a kid - LOL!!
Seen as he's a zombie ice cream I had to do him pistachio with raspberry sauce for blood LOL!!  (I've done this using ProMarkers.
The edges of the image were distressed with Tim Holtz peeled paint ink to match the theme.  I've then added a little doodling with a biro to frame the image.

Before mounting the image onto the design paper from Santoro I cut out a section and sketched in some rolled back paper.  Into this I've added some eyes which give it the whole spooky Halloween feel! My final touch a scattering of green enamel dots.

Love to see what you do with him

Bunny swing

Today is our new challenge at Oddball Art and our theme for this month is Little Child.

I've decided to use this little cutie - image no 200.  Did you know you can get Lizzy's images on Etsy with 10% discount by quoting my code DTANDREA10 at checkout - don't miss out :D

As this card is aimed at a small child I wanted to use bright colours, I've used a mixture of Copics and polychromos pencils.  I've also sketched some clouds into the background.
Once I'd finished the image I added a little doodling with a biro to add a border to the image.

The design paper is a lovely bright one from Joy Crafts and the sentiment was made up from some letter stickers bought from Paperchase.

Looking forward to seeing what you all make for the challenge.

I'm using 60s Rock and Roll Girl for my inspiration.  I've coloured this groovy chic with ProMarkers.   All design papers from LemonCraft and Wild Rose Studio have been distressed.

The butterflies are hand cut form LemonCraft paper and the only embellishment I've used is a wood flourish border from Scrapienic.

Oh and I've used pink for this card lots and lots of PINK (my favourite colour) :D

Up and away on your special day

Clean and Simple - that's the theme for this card using Boy in the Sky from Sasayaki Glitter.

I've kept the colour of the image neutral using only a little pale blue around the clouds them a massive pop of orange for the balloon!  I've done this using ProMarkers.
I've cut the image so it covers two thirds of the card face.  The other third I've used some eft over design paper from Docrafts.

No embellishments on this card,  the only thing I've added is a sentiment which is cut from black card stocking using a Spellbinders die.

One for the boys

When we make baby cards it's usually for the girls.  But this beautiful image is from Sami Stamps our sponsor at Outlawz Sketch challenge this month.  It's called New Daddy and is perfect for the guys!

This image was coloured with ProMarkers and I've also coloured the new baby sentiment from Lili of the Valley with ProMarkers.

Here's our sketch for today

For my inspiration card I've framed the image with cream lace and used distressed design papers from Lili of the Valley and First Edition for my background.

The only embellishment I've used are some tiny brass baby shoe charms :D
Hope to see you at the challenge

Comic book style

This is the latest image from SheepSki Designs - it's called Emmy's Hat and you can find her on Etsy click here to visit.

I decided to try something very different with this image.  She's printed at an angle with a hand drawn sentiment on one layer of card.

I've then coloured her in comic book style colours using Copics and added a splash of red on her lips and nails.  Highlights to those were added with a white gel pen.

Mounted onto black card, the only embellishment are a few rhine stones to add some bling.

Perhaps you can let me know what you think of the comic book colouring style?

Did you know I now have a Facebook page, you can find some inspirations there as well as challenges and sneak peeks.  Click here to visit SheepSki Designs on Facebook

Purple bouquet

The lovely ladies at Scrapping4Fun have me as a guest designer today.  Their theme is Birthday.

I've used this little Whimsey stamp called Dolly, I've had her for absolutely ages but not had chance to use her.  So this I thought the perfect opportunity.
The image had been coloured with ProMarkers and I've used a black polychromos pencil to add extra shading.

Once cut out the image was distressed with Tim Holtz antique linen ink.  Added to this were some sprikles of Stampendous embossing enamel.

All the papers have been distressed using a Tonic Solutiolns tool.  Design papers are from Lili of the Valley and Our Daily Bread.  The image was frames with some black card stock.

Here's a close up of the flower bouquet arrangement I've added.  These were all from Live and Love Crafts and Wild Orchid Crafts.  I found the gorgeous lavender flower patterned ribbon at Crafty Ribbons.

The happy birthday sentiment was cut from some black card stock using a Spellbinders die.  The final touch some purple gems from Scrap Berry.

Hope you like my card for today

Honoured to be a guest designer at Julia Spiri today for their new blog challenge - In the beach or sea.

The image I've chosen to showcase in a CAS style is Mermaid and Lotus
She's coloured with ProMarkers, Copics and polychromos pencils.  Sketched into the background with ProMarkers are some clouds.

The single design paper cut with a curved Spellbinders die is from Lili of the Valley.

The only embellishment I've used are a couple of silver dragonfly charms.  Also a few pearl gems in her hair :D

Crazy cat & Xmas trees

Anyone had a cat you're bound to have had this experience with a cat and your tree.  They find the baubles almost as irresistible as catnip!

This image is Mindy you can find her in my shop on Etsy click here to see.  She's just like my old cat stalking the baubles and getting grumpy when she got told off.  Tis the season of Crazy Catz and Christmas Trees :D
This has been coloured with ProMarkers, Copics and polychromos pencils all to add depth and texture.

I had to keep the card CAS to showcase the image for you.  I've used black card stock and orange design paper from Joy Crafts.  I don't think this one needs anything else adding so I'm stopping here - LOL!!

If you've not found me yet my shop is SheepSki Designs on Etsy - click here
