It's a boy!

Ah ha - this one is not actually for anyone at work for a change!  Although Sarah at work is due very soon so I'll no doubt be making another baby card soon.

This image is one of my favourites for a baby boy card - Just Arrived from Lili of the Valley.  I've used ProMarkers to colour and a Spellbinders die to cut.

The design papers are Lili of the Valley/NitWit Collections - Winter Wishes.  So yes it seems you do need to check out Christmas looking papers stashes because you never know what might be in there :)  I've also used some brown plain DP to back the patterned blue papers.

The blue gingham ribbon is from Lili of the Valley shop - with a hand tied bow!  Which was a bit of a challenge as I decided I wanted to add a silver dummy charm from The Ribbon Girl in the middle if it.  If someones not challenging me it appears I make my own up.  After much faffing I finally managed to sort it.

I tend to use BABY with my scrabble blocks so this time I thought I'd go for a change with the sentiment.

The final thing added are some white self adhesive gems bought it Hobby Craft.

Wonder if I'll manage to get some stock built up of baby cards now.

Blogging this has been a little tricky tonight as my chinchilla has been running across the keyboard - obviously not giving her enough attention!

Have a good weekend

Rose tea

This kitten is sooooo.... cute in the tea cup.  This image is called Kitten in a tea cup from Aurora Wings.  I didn't want to overpower the image so I've kept the colours very subtle and soft in pinks, faded green and grey ProMarkers.  I've done a close up of the image so you can see the cuteness more closely :)

I've mounted it onto some black card stock and only used more of the same for backing the light and plain design paper from Lili of the Valley/Raspberry Road Designs - Timeless Victorian.

To compliment the blacks I've used some newly acquired black lace from The Ribbon Girl.  The roses all in pinks and the leaves are a mixture from The Ribbon Girl and Wild Orchid Crafts.  The final touch again in complimenting black are some self adhesive gems.

Hope you love my kitten card

Love you to the moon and back

I've had this image "Ice" Molloco Interstellar Moon Walker for a while and I've been dying to do something with it.  Finally along came a challenge to inspire me - Oddball Art's Love challenge.

I've coloured the image with ProMarkes and added a bit of DecoArt glitter to the stars.  The die I've used to,cut the image is a Spellbimders one.  Here's a close up so you can see her better.

The papers I've used are from Santoro's Gorjuss and Prima Marketing Engraver and they've all been distressed.

The sentiment was printed from my laptop and edged with ProMarker.  I've added some clear self adhesive gems to make them look like stars in the distance.

The wooden space ship was bought from Hobby Craft and the clay white heart was from Live and Love Crafts.

Ok another experiment done :)

Daisy for mum

Mothers day is sneaking up on us here in the UK.  So that's why I thought I'd do this image from Pickled Potpourri - Grand Botanical sponsor for Through The Craft Room Door this week.  It's Team B's turn and we've got some fantastic makes for you.

I've decided to do the image as a daisy so coloured it with ivory and vanilla ProMarkers with gold ProMarker for the centre.  I've blended the colour out on the petals to make it look almost white.  The leaves by printing two leaves then using olive green and marsh green blended out towards the centre to highlight them.

To enhance the colour of the daisy I've chosen yellow themed papers from Lili of the Valley/Raspberry Road Designs - Father Knows Best.  The papers have all been distressed and to the top layer I've added some Stampendous Fran-tage embossing enamel in Aged Silver, Aged Gold and Shabby White.

The ivory organza ribbon with hand tied bow is from The Ribbon Girl.  I've them mounted the fussy cut image and a stem cut from green paper scraps over the top.

Other embellishments added are a sentiment from Lili of the Valley Set 8 Art Pad, some butterflies from Prima Shabby Chic Treasured (Live & Love Craft) and some pearlised self adhesive gems.

Hope you like my creation for Mother Day

Hip birthday

Found a little time for crafting this weekend but not as much as I wanted - part of it down to baking cakes for work because it was my birthday last week.  Who started this daft tradition!

Anyway...... This is one if found time to make - the image is Lucy Style I love You from The East Wind.  I've coloured the image in a combination of ProMarkers and Copics and a little bit of biro.  The image is mounted onto some black card stock to frame it.

I wanted to keep a punk theme so I kept the whole card red and black. The papers are from Lili of the Valley/Raspberry Road Designs Father Knows Best and Heartfelt.  I've also, used some dare red and black card stock.

The sentiment is from Lïli of the Valley Art Pad 8, I've added a splash of colour to it with a red ProMarker and black biro.  The final touch are some black self adhesive gems.

Back to work tomorrow :( hope you all had a great weekend

You n me

I love these quirky images from Lizzy Love at Oddball Art.  I decided to colour this one Big Eyed Girl Image 22 in black, white and red with ProMarkers.  The image is cut out with a Spellbinders die.

The heart background design paper is from Lili of the Valley/Raspberry Road Designs - Heartfelt.  I've actually used it upside down so all the hearts are at the top of the page rather than the bottom.  The red ribbon was also from Lili of the Valley from one of their little bags of ribbon from Christmas.  I've hand tied a bow (yay) as well.

The heart banner is cut from burgundy card stock using a La La Land Crafts die.  I've used two different types of self adhesive gems, the ones on the banner being slightly flatter.

Final touch I've added to the card are some sentiments cut from Lemon Craft paper - Holmes in Love.  Bit late for a Valentines but I'm sure someone will be wanting a LOVE card.

Harlequin rose

I'm not quite sure what gave me the inspiration for this one.  I saw the image (Harlequinade) and decided I wanted to do a black and white image with a pop of red to try make an impact with the red.

I've used grey Copics to colour the image and red ProMarkers to do the red.

once I'd completed the colouring I toyed around with black, white and red papers for a while.  But I found they just took the impact away from the image.  So in the end I kept it as simple as I could (in my fashion).

The image is mounted on black card stock.  I've also used some black and white card stock for the background papers to keep in the theme.

I've added a few different sized red roses and a rose leaf from Wild Orchid Crafts.  The only other thing I've added are some grey self adhesive gems.

Bit different for me - but them I'm always experimenting.
Happy colouring :)

Just a little thank you

I was asked to make a thank you card this week for someone who wanted to thank some nurses for looking after her recently.  We decided this poorly bunny would be a suitable image to use.  This one was from Lïli of the Valley but has now been discontinued.

I'm a pink girl when it comes to my favourite colour but when I'm doing a colour combo I love to use purple and blue.  This is what I chose to colour the image in ProMarkers with, then cut it out with a Spellbinders die.

Papers are from Lïli of the Valley/Nitwits Solids - Promises and Our Daily Bread - Christian Faith Collection.

The sentiment is from Art Pad 8 - Sentiments.  I've added a bit of colour to it with ProMarkers.

The finals touches are some self adhesive gems.

Hope the nurses love him!

Spring dream

So today was my birthday, I mostly chilled out as work has been so stressful lately it was so lovely to do nothing.  Although I did go out for a bite to eat and a very short browse round the shops because my hubby's not been well with man flu!  I did a bit of cooking (made a Tagine) and did some colouring.  I also got some amazing presents amongst them a new digital camera and a copy stand so hopefully very soon I'll be able to take some fab photos, but for now we'll just have to make do with my iPad.

This is the result from one of the images i coloured today.  She's called meet dragonfly from Ching-Chou Kuik.  I decided to make her a blonde haired beauty and to do her in a spring theme using green and white/creams.  I've mounted her into some black card stock to frame the image.

Papers are from Lili of the Valley/Raspberry Road Designs - Timeless Victorian, Shabby Shack and Heartfelt.  All the papers and the image have been torn/distressed.

Underneath the image is some lace I purchased in Hobby Craft a while ago.  The flowers, hortensias are from Live and Love Crafts are tied with a piece of the same lace.

The final touches to this card are some pearlised and green self adhesive gems.

Here's to been another year older and plenty more crafting :)

Cookie love

It's the 15th so that means a new challenge - D is for Die Cuts over at the ABC Challenge.  This one is sponsored by Di's Digi Designs and Bunny Zoe.

I've chosen Hot Chocolate and Cookies from my digi stash to use for your inspiration.  I've coloured the image with ProMarkers, cut it out with a Spellbinders die.  I've then added some embossing powder to make it look like the mice have made even more mess with the cookie crumbs.  Especially seen as one of them looks like he's full to bursting point :)

I decided on a pink and brown theme using papers from Lili of the Valley/Raspberry Road Designs - Pressed in Time and Wild Rose Studio - Antique Library.

Seen as this is a die cuts challenge I decided to use another die.  The banner is a La La Lands die which I've used twice to give a shadow effect with the brown layer underneath the pink spotty paper.

The final touches are some pink and pearlised self adhesive gems and some ink satin ribbon from my stash.

Ok your turn :)

Flower for my love

So this is the sort of girly thing that's been distracting lately from making some more guy cards.  Unky from The East Wind has given a free digi away so I thought I'd have a go and show you my first take on it.

The image is called Rose the Flower. I've chosen to do it as a Valntines style card in pinks.  The image is cut out with a Spellbinders die and edged with pink ProMarker. Here's a close up of the image for you.

The papers are from Wild Rose Studio - Antique Library, Lili of the Valley/Raspberry Road Designs - Heartfelt and Joy Crafts - Romance.  All the papers have been distressed before mounting the rest of the embellishements and image.

Embellisments used are a lace fabric heart I've had in my stash so long I can't remember where I got it, some lace from Hobby Craft, flowers and leaves from Wild Orchid Crafts and Live and Love Crafts, some white self adhesive gems, two pink hearts from a tonic solutions punch. Here's a closer
look at the flowers.

Hope you like my take on this image.

Bee my friend

This puppy looks like he's trying to have a sleep but the bee just wants to be friends.  The stamp is from Penny Black and is called Beehave.  I've had this stamped up for absolutely ages but have been distracted so much lately doing lots of girly stuff.  So hooray!!  Yet again Cardz for Guyz have inspired me to make a guy style card! AND is still need to build up my stock of guys cards.

The image is coloured with ProMarkers but in such a way to make him look like an almost white dog, cut out with a Spellbinders die then edged with tan ProMarker and blended to fade it.

Papers are from Lili of the Valley/ Raspberry Road Designs - Beach Bliss and Father Knows Best.  I've also used some red card stock and an off cut from Santoro Gorjuss paper that I've had for ages in my scraps pile :)

With a guy in mind I've kept the card simple and just finished it off with some black self adhesive gems and two bee dress it up buttons.

Definitely need to knuckle down and get some more made.

Hubby's valentine

Now the day has arrived I can get this posted, my hubby sometimes sneaks onto my blog to have a look at what I'm doing - so I have to be careful what I post when :)

So an unusual and dark valentines?  Yes in both your assumptions.  He likes skulls and collects skull t-shirts (I've lost count of how many he has), he has pictures of the grim reaper as his background on various different gadgets!  So I know he's going to absolutely love this.

The image is an Aurora wings one Momento Mori and I've used ProMarkers to colour it.  Originally I was going to leave it on the white background I'd coloured it on but then changed my mind and fussy cut it.  Here's a close up.

I've mounted the image onto plain black cardstock, then onto red card stock and left a white border.  My hubby doesn't like my overly fussy cards so I kept this simple for him.  I did a homemade sentiment and cut it out with a Spellbinders die.  The only other things I added were some black and red self adhesive gems and a couple of  enamelled hearts.

Happy valentines

Help......

Is Team B's turn at Through the Craft Room Door this week.  This week we are sponsored by Just Inklined.  The image I have used here is Cupid You're Mine.  I wanted to use this one to create a different Valentines card, rather than the all hearts and flowers type.

I've coloured the image with ProMakers, cut it out with a Spellbinders die and edged in with Tim Holtz distress ink.

The backing paper is some I've had for ages from Docrafts - Wellington Bear.  the other papers are from Lili of the Valley/Raspberry Road Designs - Father Knows Best.

The sentiment is home made and cut out with a Spellbinders die.

I've kept this card simple and only added some self adhesive gems in blue and black and some tiny wooden hearts.

Hope you like my "different" Valentines :)

Mermaid got your heart

I'm still in Valentines mode :)  This latest one I've made using The Paper Shelter image Enchanted Ocean.  The image is coloured with ProMarkers, cut out with a Spellbinders die then edged with Tim Holtz distress inks in two brown shades and tan ProMarker.  I've added some aged silver embossing enamel to create an ocean bottom sediment effect.  Shine had been added to the heart bubbles with some glossy accents and a white gel pen.  The fish have been coloured with silver ProMarker and white gel pen.

Papers are from Lili of the Valley/Raspberry Road Beach Bliss and Santoro's In Pursuit of Happiness.  I've used a Sizzix Garden Greens die and paper from Lili of the Valley/NitWits to create some ocean foliage.  The leaves have been edged with tan ProMarker to add some shadow.

Final touches are some brown self adhesive gems and some red enamelled heart sprinkles.

Relax

I don't do enough cards for guys so the current challenge at Cardz for Guyz kicked me into gear.  I'm also very low on stock for male cards and need to get more made.

The image is from Lili of the Valley - Put Your Feet Up and is coloured with ProMarkers.  I chose to do this one as it's been very popular with the people at work.

Papers are all from Lili of the Valley Country Gent, Solids Bonnets & Bowties, On a High Note and Bear Necessities (now discontinued).

I kept it simple and just added some self adhesive gems and some letter beads for the RELAX sentiment.  If my hubby is anything to go by they like simple cards.

Ok off onto my next project which is for The East Wind - colouring an apple with the cutest piglet asleep on top :)

A bit of magic

When I first saw this image by Mo Manning I wanted it straight away but couldn't afford to get it right away.  Then when I tried to buy it from Quixotic Paperie they'd run out!!  I was soooooo...... disappointed.  Then a few weeks ago my luck was in and it was back in stock - YAY!!  The name of this fantastic image is Wiz - can't imagine why ;)  You can actually get it in digital form so I included the link.

He's coloured in purple (a most appropriate colour for a wizard) ProMarkers with a dark grey hat because I thought I might overload if I did him all in purple.

I've added a little sparkle to his lightening globe with DecoArt glitter - to make it look like he's in the middle of a spell.

Even before I'd stamped him up I decided I wanted to do him as a CAS card so he was the focus.  I think I must be ill - LOL!

Paper is just one purple design paper from Lili of the Valley/NitWits Solids - Promises.  I've also mounted him onto black card stock to give him a good solid border.

The sentiment is from Lili of the Valley - Art Pad 8 - Sentiments and is highlighted with purple ProMarker.

And finally some purple self adhesive gems - purple overload :)

Sigh - I so enjoyed making this one

Dark Fairy

Here I am again having another go at the dark side - and kinda enjoying it :)

This is another creation for Cassie who's goth friend has her birthday this month.  Cassie says she particularly likes red and black so this is tailored just for her.  the image from Oddball Art is Starlynn Queen of the Spooky Starlight Sugar Web Fairies.  I've coloured her with ProMarkers and cut her out with a Spellbinders die.

Papers are from Santoro's Gorjuss and Prima Marketing Engraver Collection.  The ribbon is plain red organza and I've added some black pearlised self adhesive gems.

This final touch I added were some rhine stone clear stars to add some sparkle and also to fit in with the theme of the image.  Cassie said her friend is going to love her.

Happiness, truth, love.....

I loved this All Dressed Up image - happiness - when I first saw it, bought it and coloured it with ProMarkers then didn't know what to do with it!!

I cut it out with a Spellbinders die and then again I didn't know what to do with it!!

I was messing about doodling and decided to edge the image with blue ProMaker to give it a bit of contrast - AND again I didn't know what to do with it.

After much faffing and making other cards I spotted this paper in the Heartfelt paper stack from Lili of the Valley/Raspberry Road Designs.  Hooray!!!  I finally had an idea that worked.  I've not been so indecisive since just before I started blogging about 5 months ago.

The paper is mounted onto red card stock and I've used some black self adhesive gems from Hobby Craft.

The only other thing I've used are some Doodlebug Sprinkles - hearts which  I bought from The Glitter Pot.

So it all turned out ok in the end

Who needs cupid

Ok I just had to do it, I've had so many men groaning at work when I've mentioned Valentines Cards that I had to do an anti-Valentines!

The image is Anti-Valentine Girl with Cat Ears from Aurora Wings.  She's coloured with ProMarkers  and biros for her hair then fussy cut and mounted onto papers from Prima Marketing - Engraver Collection.

Other papers used red card stock, Lili of the Valley/Raspberry Road Designs - Father Knows Best and Heartfelt.

The sentiment "Who needs Cupid?" is stamped onto some left over paper using a Dovecraft Alphabet Letter set, then mounted onto black card stock.

There are black, red and black heart self adhesive gems and some roses and leaves from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Hope you like my card - hopefully this will shut them up now :)

Eternal love

This amazing image from Aurora Wings, Dark Goth Mermaid with a Skull, inspired me to do a love/valentines card.  My hubby's comments "it's beautiful but a little creepy" - excellent just the feeling I was going for :)

The image is coloured with ProMarkers, cut with a Spellbinders die then edged with Antique Linen Distress ink from Tim Holtz.  I've used some biro to highlight her hair.  Here's a close up of the image so you can see the colouring in more detail.

Design papers are from Santoro's Gorjuss, Lili of the Valley and Craft Creations.

The leafy plants have been created using Sizzix Garden Greens die (Tim Holtz) with paper from Lili of the Valley.  They have been highlighted with a Sandstone ProMarker on the bottom edge to give them some depth.

The silver anchor bead is from The Ribbon Girl, the silver shell and fish beads I found on Amazon.

The eternal love sentiment is home made and cut out using a Spellbinders die.  This gas also been edged with Sandstone ProMarker.

The final touch some black and white pearl self adhesive gems.

Hope you like my beautiful creepy card :)
